Sierra Madre

Welcome to Sierra Madre

Centrally located between Pasadena and Arcadia, the three-square-mile Sierra Madre is home to serene neighborhoods, lots of green space, and a quaint downtown shopping district. Its annual Wistaria Festival attracts thousands each year to see a 115-year-old purple Chinese wisteria vine, named by the Guinness Book of World Records as the largest blooming plant and one of the seven horticultural wonders of the world. The photogenic town, which has no traffic signals, appears in films such as Twin Peaks, Ed Wood, and Ocean’s 8. Pioneer Cemetery (1884), Ascension Church (1888), and Greene & Greene’s Jennie Reeve House (1906) house are just a few of the many architectural gems in the area. Lizzie’s Trail Inn and Richardson House, both built in the 1890s, serve as public museums.
